Easter, that invigorating time of year when the sun starts to shine again and here in Llanwrtyd Wells where Mountain biking first started in the UK. The Red Kite MTB Easter Bash is back.
The Red Kite MTB Easter Bash is set in the Crychan Forest. This forestry commission property which has a myriad of natural and man-made forest trails for you to ride.
A mixture of technical off road single track, rugged double track trails and gravel forest road makes up our Two off road Mountain Bike trails set in the Crychan Forest half way between Llandovery and Llanwrtyd Wells, Mid Wales. This non competitive cycle ride is run in support of the Crychan Forest Association www.crychanforest.org.uk. Any Profits from the ride go to help the development of amenities within the forest and countryside trails of the forest used for the event.
This year we welcome Macmillan Cancer Support fundraisers who wish to do Something “just a little bit different” to Raise money for the Macmillan Cancer support Charity.
If your raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support Charity, just book on line and re will refund to you £5 on the day to be added to your sponsorship collection. N.B.you must raise more than £30 for Macmillan to be entitled to the £5.00 refund.
Once registered you may start the event form 9am. The start will remain open till approximately 1pm. The course is fully marked, event Marshall’s will be on hand at a central Checkpoint where tea and coffee will be available and some other snack supplies. At the start/finish point, There will be food available Burgers and more natural nourishment. Medical cover will cover the event for your first aid needs if required.
The courses are approx 30km and long 49km. You are welcome to loop around again. Now you know where your going the turns and bumps are more fun. The Marshalls will at approx 2pm close the second half of the long course and the event participants will need to return to the start finish to check in before 5pm.
