Whether you visit us for your first lesson, you are returning for a tune up or to develop a technique. All our sessions are run at your level of ability and progresses at your speed of proficiency.
After a short paddle technique discussion on the fore shore we take to the water. Instruction on how to lift and move your board to and from the water are discussed and displayed. We quickly move onto how to get on and maneuvering your boards forward, changing course, how to stop and turn around.
Then the moment of truth. The progression to standing on the boards, once standing we relax for a bit and explore this new sensation of floating on water standing up. Once we have all relaxed we move onto more advanced paddle techniques, forwards, backwards, stopping and turns while standing.
As your confidence increases we add in some foot stance changes, linking our paddle strokes together and a few maneuvering skills to stretch your learning.
Our Beginners learning session duration is 2hrs.
If you are returning to us or indeed you are visiting us from another SUP School to experience the many different methods and paddle techniques that Instructors have. We will discuss with you your expectation that you wish to gain from the session, and what you would like to learn. We will then guide you towards achieving this outcome.
Our improvers learning sessions are for 1hr.
Personal Floatation devices or personal Buoyancy Aid will be provided. We also have a large selection of wetsuits, rash vests, and cags for all sessions participants if required. Experienced paddlers are welcome to bring their own personal equipment.
